Dog of Honor

It is most definitely not all the time that we recommend allowing your fur baby to make an appearance at your wedding but there are some thoughts we have on it and we are going to share it with you right here!

  1. You do not have to feel guilty for not having them there. Those of you that don't know - Zach and I adore our fur children. But believe it or not, we didn't see them for 2 whole weeks when we eloped and chose to go on our honeymoon right after. It sucked but trust us, that alone time was amazing!
  2. You're allowed to designate someone to be on pet patrol. Let them visit before your ceremony if you opt for a first look. This allows you to calm some nerves by seeing your support animal but then allows the need to be pet parents to go away for the remainder of your wedding day.
  3. If you don't want to miss them on your day but don't want them at your venue or they simply aren't allowed - ask your wedding photographers to stop by your home or wherever your fur baby will be. Have a little session with them before your day even officially begins! (if you and your partner don't want to see each other on the day of that's ok too - just have your own mini sessions with your baby.
